Ross Jr., Secretary RE: Compliance date deadline for removing LCID material at temporary staging area to permitted C and D disposal areas Dear Jim: This letter is to remind you that the waste in the temporary disaster debris staging area needs to be moved into the permitted C and D cell by June 28, 2005. This reflects the 60 day extension that was granted for utilizing this site. Thank you for your cooperation concerning this matter. Please contact me if you have any questions. Patterson Waste Management Specialist NCDENR — Solid Waste Division 2090 US Highway 70 Swannanoa, NC 28778 Dear Jim, Office 271 Cray Rudisd d. MarAafl, NC 28753 Thank you for the letter reminding us of our June 281h deadline. However, we would like to request an additional sixty day extension to allow us to finish the final excavation on our current Construction and Demolition Landfill. The final excavation will take longer than the June 28th deadline. As you know this C & D cell is rapidly filling up. We estimate it will be filled by October of 2005. This extension would allow us the opportunity to place the disaster debris in the most appropriate location within the remaining space. If we move the debris now it would become a hindrance in the final excavation process. We appreciate your consideration of this matter. Sincerely, James L.
