RE: Permanent Methane Monitoring -Wells Installation
Dear Mr. Coffee:
Madison County Solid Waite Department completed installation of the six (6)
required methane monitoring wells at the Madison County landfill, Permit No. 58-03,
on October 7, 1994. The wells were installed to the specifications directed to
me by Mr. James Patterson. All 6 wells range in depth of 7 feet 2 inches to
9 feet 4 inches where drill refuse (rock) was encountered. Each well pipe extends
approximately 1.5 to 2 feet above ground level enclosed with 6 inch steel casing
set in concrete.
The location of each well is depicted on drawing 1 of Madison County's transition
plan prepared by Law Environmental, Inc. dated April 7, 1994.
Testing was performed on October 20, 1994, with no methane gases being detected.
