Since the fire was close to a wooded area, and additional firefighting water was needed, assistance was requested from area volunteer fire departments. The flames were extinguished, and the area was saturated to prevent further flare-ups. A firewatch was set up, and the fire cause was investigated. The most likely cause was hot ashes from the Alternate Fuels Boiler (AFB) delivered that morning and dumped near combustible waste. In the future, a special designated area, will be posted for this ash, since it is only generated during infrequent boiler maintenance.
