B. W. Sanitary Landfill Onerational Plans
1. Plans & Drawings
- V . Sanitary Landfill - contour r:ap Plate IV W
- Trenching Plan - W. Sanitary Landfill Plate V V,
Notes -
- Dirt fron each trench will be used for cover as needed, as
trench is filled.
- Natural screening is adequate. t
- Pit for liquids is fenced; garbage trenches not. Site is
not adjacent to public or neighbors' property.
- No utilities or stora?e facilities are needed because site
is close to associated industrial site.
2. ReAort
- Population served by the site is now 900-1000. This may
increase to 1500 within 5 years. The area served is only
that of the Company property, which is virtually raw land except
for the industrial site.
- Material disposed of is garbage and dry waste from cafeteria and
lunch rooms, amounting to 20-25 cu. ft./week. Industrial liquids
(larg, ely water) with high 30D or to>:ic constituents amounting to
500-1000 gal/week are disposed of in a separate pit.
J~
- Garbage from cafeteria and lunchrooms is dumped twice a week
and covered after each load. Garbage is in plastic bags.
Since a relatively small amount (10 cu ft) is dumped at one
time, the landfill contains many small cells rather than the larger
cells shown schematically on the plans.
Garbage arrives in Dmpster cans and is deposited. It is covered
with earth carried by a tractor with front-end loader. When the
trench is full, it is covered and compacted by a• bulldozer and a
new similar trench is made, adjacent to the old one.
- One farm tractor with front-end loader and one bulldozer are
available at.the site, as needed.
- W. G. Boggs is responsible for operation and maintenance.
- After completion of sanitary landfill, restoration will make
the land suitable for other uses. There are no specific plans fQr use
at this time.
- Anticipated life of the project is 5 years.
Note: This site will be phased out early because of addition of
a new recreational lake nearby - Pond • No. 39. P.pprcv! r i of
new site -aill be %ougrt .
- This landfill differs from most in that it is privately owned
and operated for the benefit of the owner. Compared to most
landfills, it is very small.

Dear Mr. Fulp,
To initiate registration and approval of our sanitary landfills,
I enclose marked sections of three topographical maps showing site locations:
® A portion of Standingstone "Mountain and adjacent Brevard USGS
Quadrangles 194 NE and 194 N141, showing E and W landfill locations
in relation to the Plant and the nearest property line which is
marked.
o A portion of a local map shoving the E. landfill, for scrap
polyester film base.
® A portion of the local map showing the W. landfill, for other
types of wastes.
Both sites are well within Plant property, vil th no residential or
commercial areas nearby.
I will appreciate knowing when you can conveniently visit the
Plant to inspect the sites and to point out test bore locations for sub-
surface characterization.
