RE: Request for Renewal of Permit to Operate
Highlands Transfer Station; Macon County, North Carolina; Permit #57-04T
Dear Mr. Gaither:
Please accept this letter as a request for renewal of the Permit to Operate the Highlands Transfer
Station; Pen -nit 457-04T. The transfer station is located at 1080 Rich Gap Road, Highlands, North
Carolina. Regarding the permit number: I have seen two different nomenclatures used for the facility;
57-04, 57-04T. I am using the number 57-04T, as the permit number 57-04 applies to the Construction
and Demolition Landfill that closed in 2008.
I apologize for the delinquency of this request, as it should have been made on or before September 6,
2012. I very much appreciate you making me aware that the Permit to Operate the transfer station had
expired on December 6, 2012. I will make every effort to forward to you the permit renewal fee and
modified Operations and Site Plans as soon as possible.
The Operations and Site Plans will be modified to include the transfer trailer staging pads as approved
on November 18, 2011, as well as changes to the wood -waste grinding operation.
If you have any questions or require any additional information at this time in order to process this
request, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Sincer ly,
M. Chris Stahl
