Dear Mr. Coffey:
This letter is to confirm our tdlephone conversation of
November 17th concerning the Highlands Landfill in Macon
County. We have signed a statement of intent that allows us
to exchange private property for the forest service property
in Highlands. This process has begun but may take several
months.
It is my understanding that the landfill site in High-
lands was approved and a permit issued in 1985.- It is also
my understanding that since the site was approved prior to
the directive of 1987 requiring all new landfills to be
lined, that this site is not required to have liners at this
time.
We wish 'to proceed with the development of thissiteand
exchange of property provided we have not overlooked
anything.
Please confirm to me in writing that we are on track and
let me know if we have any additional requirements to be met
by your office.
Sin ely,
