We appreciate your cooperation in eliminating the surface
water impoundment problem at the Macon County Landfill. This
landfill is now being operated in an acceptable fashion with one
exception. There is a fairly large area which is not in contin-
uous use which should be seeded in such a manner as to prevent
on -site erosion. On the last two inspections dated April 21,
1980 and July 15, 1980, the violation.of "Temporary Seeding" was
recorded. This is in violation of Section .0103 of the Division
of Health Services Solid Waste Management Rules. As a result
we are requiring that by September 15th, you seed this area in
accordance with recommendations of the Soil Conservation Service
or other qualified source.
If we can be of technical assistance on this matter, please
notify us.
