Re: Cape Fear River PFAS Loading Reduction Plan - Supplemental Information
Report - Responses to CFRW Comments
Dear Mr. Burdette,
On December 19, 2019, Cape Fear River Watch (CFRW) provided comments to
Chemours on the November 4, 2019 Cape Fear River PFAS Loading Reduction Plan -
Supplemental Information Report submitted by Chemours under paragraph 12 of the Consent
Order. Chemours’s consultant Geosyntec Consultants of NC, P.C. (Geosyntec) has prepared the
enclosed memorandum responding to those comments and providing the requested clarifications
and additional information. Chemours is mindful of CFRW’s concerns regarding the anticipated
timeframes for reductions, and the proposed reductions actions are being designed to deliver
expeditious results without compromising on effectiveness. We hope that the responses address
your concerns and would be glad to arrange a time for discussion for any remaining questions so
as to facilitate the timely amendment of the Consent Order to incorporate the paragraph 12
requirements.
Sincerely,
Brian D. Long
