This quarterly progress report details the work and activities undertaken and completed pursuant to the Consent Order for the period from January 1, 2020 to March 31, 2020. During the first quarter of 2020, Chemours continued its comprehensive work to implement the projects set forth in the Consent Order. Significant actions undertaken during this reporting period include: · Chemours conducted testing of its new thermal oxidizer facility to confirm that it is destroying over 99.99% of all PFAS air emissions routed to it (destruction efficiency tests completed in February 2020 showed an average PFAS destruction efficiency of 99.99981%). · All of Chemours’s process wastewater continues to be captured and safely disposed of off-site. · Significant work continues to reduce the remaining PFAS loadings from surface water and groundwater to the Cape Fear River, including continued design of proposed corrective actions and mass loading sampling. · Chemours continues to provide replacement drinking water supplies to qualifying residences and other private well users. Over 2600 residences are receiving bottled water, and whole building and under sink filtration systems have been installed at 800 residences. We are focused and intent on ensuring that the Consent Order implementation continues to proceed in the same manner. 2 As always, if you have any questions or need any additional information concerning this report, or the Consent Order implementation generally, please contact me at Brian.D.Long@chemours.com.
