Re: Consent Order Paragraph 26 - Request for Extension of Deadline
Dear Ms. Holman,
Following up on previous discussions and correspondence with DEQ, I am writing on
behalf of Chemours to seek an extension of the deadline under paragraph 26 of the Consent
Order for submission of the Total Organic Fluorine (TOF) methodology by Dr. Susan D.
Richardson of the University of South Carolina, the third party contractor approved by DEQ for
this work. The Consent Order established an original deadline of December 31, 2020 for
submission of the TOF methodology, and, by letter dated December 12, 2019, DEQ extended
this deadline to March 31, 2021 due to the length of DEQ’s review period before approving the
TOF plan. Due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chemours hereby requests an
additional three month extension, to June 30, 2021. Please see the enclosed letter from Dr.
Richardson in support of this request.
If you have any questions, please contact me at Brian.D.Long@chemours.com.
Sincerely,
Brian D. Long
