Analyst Qualifications:
Each chemist must work with under an experienced chemist for a period of time until they can perform
the work independently. They must be able to calibrate the LC/MS/MS, review and process data and
perform required maintenance procedures. For 537 modified analysis, proficiency is measure through a
documented Initial Demonstration of Capability (IDOC) and then ongoing Demonstrations of Capability
(DOC). For work under EPA 537.1, an addition 7 replicate MDL study is required as part of the IDOC.

All standards used in the analysis of samples for both EPA 537.1 and 537 modified are purchased
through Wellington Laboratories, Inc. and all certificates of analysis are stored at ELLE.
