Dear Ms. Masemore,
Pursuant to paragraph 11(d) in the executed Consent Order entered February 25, 2019
amongst Chemours, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and Cape
Fear River Watch, please find enclosed the Characterization of PFAS in Process and Non-
Process Wastewater and Stormwater: Ongoing Sampling – 2021 Quarters1 and 2 Semi-Annual
Report (Paragraph 11(d) Semi-Annual Report). This report summarizes sampling conducted for
the first six months of the Ongoing Sampling period under Paragraph 11(d) (January 2021 – June
2021). The report was prepared by Chemours’ consultant, Geosyntec Consultants of NC, P.C.
The report summarizes recommendations to the sampling locations and analyte list for
the Ongoing Sampling program. Chemours requests acknowledgment or concurrence from DEQ
to perform the Ongoing Sampling in accordance with these recommendations by October 31,
2021.
