RE: Closure of Rosman Research Landfill
Transylvania County
On my last visit to Rosman Research landfill on September 25, 1986, I
discovered the trench being used for solid waste disposal was no longer in use
and had been filled with soil. The area appeared to have been adequately stab-
ilized with grass, but just a few days prior to my visit several loads of fill
dirt had been dumped on top of this area. I think for all practical purposes
this landfill can be considered closed out, but I informed Charles Merrill of
Rosman Research that we may have to visit the site in the spring to ascertain
that the area is properly stabilized.
Please advise if further inspections are necessary at this site.
