The lettering shall include the firm name, town name, phone number and septage management firm permit number as shown on the firm application. All lettering required by this Rule on the pumper vehicle shall be no less than three inches in height and legible. Noted that on both sides of vehicle Tag#HT8556 that no town name is listed, that the phone number is less than three inches and that the firm name “Nichols Plumbing & Piping Inc” is not displayed at three inches. Correct the lettering for these items (at least three inches in height for all letters or numbers) on both sides of this vehicle. Implement this corrective action by January 15, 2022 and contact the Raleigh Central office at 919-707-8285 for a follow up inspection. SEE BACK OF PAGE The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. Inspected vehicle Tag# HT8556 (not the tag# listed on the firm application). VIN# correct per the firm application. The tank appears structurally sound & securely attached. Outlet covers were on and no drips/leaks were noted. Lettering issue noted on the front page of this report. 2. Reviewed the truck pumping logs and it appears that the required information is being maintained except that “Brians Waste Recycling” is listed which is not the correct name for that disposal facility – it is “Enviro Choice”. 3. Discussed that the firm permit renewal process is currently underway. Ensure that the correct tag# is listed on the firm application (see item 1 above). Also discussed that the required 4 hours of continuing education/firm training has to be obtained by the end of December. 4. Thank you for your time.
