Dear Mr. Perkins:
The enclosed plans for the Town of Canton landfill have been
revised in response to your comments of August 8, 1974, as
follows:
1. Dikes have been shown on cross -sections. The location
on the plan is indicated by contours.
2. Earth for construction of dikes, the 0.5 foot of cover
for each intermediate layer, and the 2 foot final cover
will require approximately 140,000 cubic yards of earth.
The topography and cross -sections have been extended to
include the source of the material. .11
3. Individual lift heights and planned intermediate cover
have been added to the cross -sections.
4. Additional berm swales have been added to the final
surface to break up the long 4% grade.
The spring box shown on the plan was constructed when the land-
fill was opened several years ago and was covered with an esti-
mated 50 feet of fill when our survey was made. There is no
cleanout or inspection well extending -to the present surface.
The exact location is unknown, and locating it with a pipe
locator is not possible due to the great quantity of metals in
the fill.
If there are any questions, or comments which require additional
revisions, please do not hesitate to call.
Very truly yours,
Roger M. Lyda, P.E.
