Dear Mr. -Long:
We appreciate the time you gave us on May 15, 1975, to
discuss your plans to dispose of industrial waste from Dayco.
You informed us that Dayco will separate wire from the waste
to facilitate handling at the county landfill. You also stated
that this waste had been received for two days for experimental
purposes and that no particular problems had been encountered.
We recommended that you employ a trench system specifically
for Dayco waste. This recommendation was based on knowledge we
have gathered in inspecting disposal of Dayco waste at the
Richard Franklin Landfill.' We know that this waste is of a
nature not readily adaptable to the dyke method used at the
county landfill. You stated that you will be willing to --use a
trench method in the future. if you encounter unusual problems
disposing of Dayco waste as part of your present operations.
Sincerely,

Dear Bill:
As you know, the Haywood County Landfill began accepting the rubber wastes
from Dayco on July 1, 1975. The Dayco wastes includes barrels of benzine
and other chemicals. These are presently being buried in the landfill.
Dr. Roberson and I would like for you, at your earliest convenience, to
inspect this landfill and advise us if this type of wastes will cause any
future problems. As you know, we have a good landfill and don't want to
jeopordize its' condition.
Thank you for your services, and I look forward to seeing you.
Since el ,
