Box 2091 Raleigh, North Carolina 27602 Dear Mr. Meyer: We hereby apply for your approval of the site and landfill operation described on the attached sheet as a disposal site for our Old Fort plant solid waste. This waste material consists of about 200 bales per week of automotive carpet scraps. The material is primarily nylon carpet with a back -coating of either polyethylene or a flexible plastic which is at least 50% clay filler. We propose to erect the fence as a security measure to prevent vandalism or the dumping of garbage. The roadside ditch will be cut to prevent erosion from run-off originating off -site. No erosion has been evidenced so far that would deposit fill or waste material downstream from the landfill. Note that this property is owned and operated by Mr. Garvin McEntire of Old Fort. If specific mailings need to be made to him, please contact me beforehand so that I can review these requirements with him now. I hope this answers the questions you had. If not, please don't hesitate to call me at our Charlotte office at (704) 596-3500. Sincerely, COLLINS & AIKMAN Ernest F.
