MCDOWELL COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS MIKE GLADDEN, DIRECTOR 60 EAST COURT STREET MARION, NC 28752 January 17, 2006 Mr. Al Hetzell Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section 2090 US Hwy 70 Swannanoa, NC 28778 Dear Al, I am forwarding you a copy of the "Grey Water Analysis" received from Pace Analytical. I am also enclosing a copy of a letter received from Larry Carver, WWTP Superintendent, City of Marion. As you will note, City of Marion requires a notice of State approval for us to continue with this project. Will you please let me hear when this approval is authorized. Thanks for your help. Drawer 700 SUPERINTENDENT Marion, North Carolina 28752 January, 11, 2006 Mr. Nlike Gladden McDowell County Landfill 10 East Court St. Marion, NC 28752 RE: Grey Water at Landfill Dear Mr. Gladden: Please be advised that after reviewing the laboratory analysis from Pace Analytical on the grey water from the landfill, I have determined that nothing was found that would deter us ftom receiving the liquid in our waste stream. Should this finding change at any time, You would be notified immediately. Once you have State approval, we will proceed to set up a file, that will authorize you to pump and haul the liquid to our Public Works facility. We will treat this process just like we do our septic haulers. The cost of dumping is $15.00 per load and $.02 per gallon. Your truck would have to have a gauge to measure the gallons. If you have any questions, or need further information please call me at 652-8843.
