extension of closure activities on April 15, 2009 entitled:

In addition, the Section received a hardcopy letter request on April 20, 2009 providing a revised schedule for
closure activities.
As requested, the letter updates progress and provides a revised schedule of closure activities. Therefore,
Henderson County is granted a one-time extension for completion of all closure activities related to the
Construction and Demolition Debris Landfill. To that end, all closure activities, including a site inspection by
Andrea Keller with the Field Operations Branch, must be completed no later than June 30, 2009. Once closure is
deemed complete and satisfactory the Section will issue an approval letter.

Henderson County, North Carolina
On behalf of Henderson County, McGill Associates is submitting the schedule of
activities leading to the closure of the Henderson County Solid Waste Landfill Facility,
Construction and Demolition Landfill, Permit No. 45-01. This proposed schedule is in response
to your letter to Henderson County dated January 5, 2009. The proposed activities are as
follows:
Final cover finishing and dressing April 20 — April 30, 2009
and repair of winter weather damage:
Grassing Activities: May 4 — May 8, 2009
Excavate and measure representative May 11 — May 15, 2009
test holes and prepare report:
Install ditch armoring: May 11 —May 15, 2009
County's self inspection of site and June 1 -- June 5, 2009
re -grassing of areas as necessary:
Notify DENR that the site has been closed June 18 — June 22, 2009
in accordance with the requirements of
15A NCAC 13B .0505 and schedule final
inspection:
Tentative date for Final Inspection: June 26, 2009
