Permit No. SWC-88-08
This facility was a Small, Type 3 Solid Waste Compost Facility. The most current permit was issued
on November 19, 1997 with an expiration date of September 1, 2002. The last record of inspection
that I have is on February 19, 2002. The facility list on the DWM Portal indicates this facility as
a closed LCID Landfill. This is incorrect. This has always been a compost facility.
On April 15, 2011, I went to the site to verify closure. I have verified that this facility is closed. I
spoke with Mr. Steve Williams, who rents a portion of the property as a horse pasture, and he stated
that the compost facility and related farm is no longer in operation. Mr. Pete Kuehne died in a plane
crash on April 8, 2003 (this was verified with a computer search). The property is for sale. The
facility was not processing compost during the February 19, 2002 audit. It appeared that no waste
was on site.
