The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

01 – This Facility is a closed Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfill. 02 – The site is secured by a chain link fence with locked gates at the facility entrance. 03 – The Facility access road is constructed of all-weather construction and is being well maintained.
04 – Facility has replaced signage on the entrance gate stating the permit number, no trespassing & emergency contact information (911). 05 – This Facility manages landfill gas through a passive venting system. All the vents are maintained.
06 – The Facility monitoring well records were not reviewed. 07 – The Facility has a well-established native grass cover the landfill to prevent erosion. 08 – Site is mowed at least 2 times per year. 09 – Need to replace a couple of Edge of waste markers that have been hit by the mower. Keep vegetation cleared around Markers so they can be observed during an inspection or mowing. 10 – Digital pictures taken during the Site inspection. Some attached. 11 – No violations were observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
