In accordance with our meeting on November 29, 2011, Santek Environmental of
North Carolina, LLC (Santek) is submitting documentation prepared by McGill
Associates pertaining to a permit modification at the Haywood County -White Oak
MSW Landfill. More specifically, the following modifications are being
proposed:
(L)New scales and scale house
(2.)New convenience center
(3.)New-wheel wash facility, and
(4.)Revised top contours for Phase 1, 2 and3.
Attached is a letter and drawings from McGill Associates depicting the requested
revisions. A compact disc containing these documents electronically is also
included for your records.
Additionally, Santek would like to request a review of the proposed operational
waste filling standard. Santek believes the following standards are acceptable in
the landfill industry as landfills are known to settle over time, but would like the
NCDENR's concurrence or opinion in writing.
The contours shown on Sheet C-6 are intended to aid operations in waste filling.
A tolerance of 5 feet from the contour elevations shown on the plan will be judged
to be in accordance with the plan. At the time of closure construction activities
actual waste grades +/- 2 feet of the design grades are deemed in accordance with
the permit drawings:
