All photographs were taken by Troy Harrison on May 19, 2010. 2. The facility consists of a MSW transfer station, tire collection site, white goods collection site, metals collection site, and other recyclables collection area. 3. The tipping floor was observed. The floor is regularly swept clean by staff. Signs are placed to remind customers of proper disposal of waste. No banned waste was observed in the semi-trailer. Transfer Station Walls 4. There are two tanks that receive used oil and antifreeze. These tanks are covered but setting on the ground. Used oil filters are placed in drums. Used batteries were stored on a pallet in an upright position. Propane tanks were stored on allets. Propane Tank and Battery Area Used Oil, Anti-Freeze and Oil Filters (barrels on right) 5. The white goods area has been relocated outside of the covered shed to make room for other recyclables. Freon is removed by Transfer Station staff and marked with an "X". The metal pile was also observed. In addition, there was a a er bailer, used allets and bins used to receive paper near this location. Additional materials recycled were plastic and aluminum cans. These are collected in separate containers. ~ Aluminum Cans Plastic 7. Leachate was being collected and stored in a septic tank. The tank was last pumped out about two weeks ago. No evidence of leakage or overflow was observed. Septic Tank 8. The area below the tipping floor was well kept and maintained. The tire trailer was closed and no tires were observed uncovered. Tire Trailer 10. This facility was very clean and well maintained at the time of the audit.
