SUBJECT: Resolution of Notice of Violation
David Brantley & Sons Compost Facility
3506-COMPOST-2012
Franklin County
Dear Mr. Farrell:
On September 21, 2021, Ms. Amanda Thompson, representing the State of North Carolina, Division of Waste
Management Solid Waste Section (Section) conducted a follow-up inspection. During this inspection, it was
determined that a berm had been placed near the northwestern corner of the site to prevent any potential
I each ate/sto rmwate r from leaving the site. The leachate/stormwater would be pumped out and placed in the
on -site dewatering system. Sampling has been conducted and the Section concurred with no further action. The
windrows had also been reorientated to prevent the ponding of water.
This letter serves to confirm that the requirements of the Notice of Violation dated July 22, 2021 have been
satisfied and the violation(s) have been corrected. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me at (910) 433-3353 or e-mail Amanda.thompson@ncdenr.gov.
Sincerely,
