PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Routine STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: No violations noted on the previous inspection.
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
NONE
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1) This facility consists of one above ground metal tank with a capacity of 1,000 gallons for the storage of
portable toilet waste and domestic septage.
2) The “No Trespassing” signage present as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(k).
3) The access road to the detention facility was in good shape as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(b).
4) Tank accessible for inspection. No debris or vegetation blocking the tank from being inspected as per
Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(i). Some vegetation starting to grow up around the tank. Be sure to keep the
vegetation cut down so that the tank can be inspected for issues.
5) The 1,000-gallon tank is made of metal. No holes or cracks observed which may allow the escape of
septage out of the tank as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(c). No leaks noticed.
6) Some septage on the ground between the tank and a 5-gallon bucket. Septage needs to be cleaned up
off the ground and disposed of properly. Septage to be transferred in a manner that prevents leaks or
spills of septage onto the ground surface or onto the tank as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(j).
7) No vector or odor issues noticed as covered within Rules 15A NCAC 13B .0838(e)(2) and .0838(g).
8) Setback distances appear to be ok.
