Re: Submission of Quarterly Progress Report Pursuant to Consent Order Paragraph 28
Dear Ms. Masemore,
Chemours is pleased to submit the enclosed quarterly progress report, as required under
paragraph 28 of the Consent Order entered by the Superior Court for Bladen County on February
25, 2019. This quarterly progress report details the work and activities undertaken and
completed pursuant to the Consent Order and Addendum for the period from January 1, 2021 to
March 31, 2021.
During the first quarter of 2021, Chemours continued its comprehensive work to
implement the projects set forth in the Consent Order and Addendum. Significant actions
undertaken during this quarterly reporting period include:
• Chemours continued to operate its thermal oxidizer facility, which is destroying over
99.99% of all PFAS air emissions routed to it.
• All of Chemours’s process wastewater continues to be captured and safely disposed of
off-site.
• Significant work continues to reduce the remaining PFAS loadings from surface water
and groundwater to the Cape Fear River, pursuant to both the Consent Order and
Addendum. Chemours continued operation of the capture and treatment system for the
Old Outfall (Outfall 003) and the flow-through cell system for Seep C. During the first
quarter, Chemours also performed mass loading sampling, submitted mass loading
modeling results, and took actions in furtherance of the forthcoming remediation systems
for Seeps A, B, and D, onsite groundwater, and stormwater.
• Chemours continues to provide replacement drinking water supplies to qualifying
residences and other private well users. Over 2400 residences are receiving bottled
water, and whole building or under sink filtration systems have been installed at over
2200 residences.

We are focused and intent on ensuring that the implementation of the Consent Order and
Addendum continues to proceed in the same manner.
