As shown on the attached Landfill Gas Monitoring Data Form, methane was detected in compliance monitoring point LFG-2A above the lower explosive limit (LEL) during the second quarterly methane monitoring event. A verification event was conducted on June 2, 2021 and confirmed the initial LEL exceedance at LFG-2A. This letter serves as a notification to the Department as required under 15A NCAC 13B .0544(d)(3)(A). A Landfill Gas Remediation Plan will be submitted within 60 days per 15A NCAC 13B .0544(d)(3)(C). Based on the close proximity of a surface water feature and the fact that no structures are present in the area, no other actions are warranted at this time.
