The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and
any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

COMMENTS
General
1. This inspection was performed to determine the facility's compliance with the Yard Waste Notification rules.
2. The site is located on Blue Clay Road, approximately 1.3 miles north of North 23rd St.
3. Under the Notification, this facility is allowed to accept the following:
a. Untreated and unpainted wood
b. Silviculture Waste
c. Yard Trash
d. Yard Waste
4. This facility accepts the abovementioned materials and processes it into chips for use as boiler fuel. Mulch is
created from untreated/unpainted wood and silviculture waste.
5. Other operations occur on the property, such as timber storage; photos below. This is not part of the waste
processing operation. Thereby, it is not considered part of the footprint or volume restrictions.
6. Material that may be too soil -like for combustion is utilized by the New Hanover County landfill for use as
cover.
Siting
1. The site is gated for controlled access.
2. The signage is installed as required.
3. Scales are utilized for tonnage.
4. There were no sedimentation or erosion issues noted.
5. All roads appeared all-weather accessible.
