The site had accessible all-weather roads to the septage land application fields covered under the permit. 4. Field 3 had cattle and not currently used for land application. Due to recent rains, no land applications were being made on the day of inspection. Fields 1 and 2 were not being used. Field 3 was being used for recent land applications. 5. Appropriate signage was displayed. 6. Disposal area boundaries were delineated with permanent markers. Additional markers have been placed to account for the cutting of the forest and replacement of those that have fallen or are missing. In Fields 1 and 3, markers were also moved to account to align with the original measurements and setbacks. Field 2 was remeasured to account for a water supply well and stored farm equipment. Field 4 will need to be reviewed for correct placement of boundary markers during the next inspection. 7. All septage discharges appear to have been made within the disposal area boundary with the exception of a few areas where the boundary markers were placed according to the original drawings. As a reminder, all septage discharges must be made within the field boundaries. 8. Fields 1, 2 and 3 had fescue as the established crop according to the nutrient management plan (NMP). The crop appeared to be adequate. 9. Field 4 has fescue listed as the established crop and may include clover according to the NMP. The current NMP requires that fields that develop less than 80% cover be re-seeded at a rate of 20 lbs. per acre. Land application of septage without an adequate crop could result in incurring violations. Field 4 Field 4 10. No objectionable odors were observed.
