Land Clearing and Inert Debris Landfill Notification approval letter dated February 28, 1996 was issued from the SWS to John Morris. Current status of Land Clearing and Inert Debris Landfill Notification is OPEN PURPOSE OF AUDIT: Compliance Audit (to ensure that the Land Clearing and Inert Debris (LCID) Landfill is in compliance with 15A North Carolina Administrative Code (NCAC) 13B .0563, .0564, and .0566). NOTICE OF VIOLATION(S): None. You are hereby advised that, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Statute or Regulations. For the violation(s) noted here, you may be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE AUDIT REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: None. AREAS OF CONCERN AND COMMENTS: On April 21, 2009, John Patrone met with John Morris, Joe Morris, and Kenneth McGee and conducted a compliance audit of the Land Clearing and Inert Debris Landfill located on Dennis Road in Germanton, Forsyth County. 1. Morris Brothers Landscaping uses the LCID landfill for its business. The landfill has recently been covered with soil and John Morris stated that it will no longer be used. 2. The LCID landfill (soil) cover must be at least 1 foot in depth and slopes shall not exceed a 3:1 slope ratio or a ratio of which no indication of erosion or runoff is observed. 3. John and Joe Morris stated that the site will be covered and graded accordingly and that they will put seed down. 4. The logs stored on -site should be removed within the next three months. 5. The mulch pile stored on -site should be turned regularly until it is used (by Morris Brothers Landscaping). 6. John Morris stated that he would like to closeout the LCID landfill with the SWS. The LCID landfill closure procedures will be discussed with Mr. Morris. 7. A copy of the Land Clearing and Inert Debris Landfill Notification will be mailed to John and Joe Morris. 8. A copy of the rules pertaining to Notified LCID landfills will be mailed to John and Joe Morris. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this audit report.
