Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 3 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS On May 22, 2012, John Patrone conducted a post operational verification site visit of the Carolina Worm Castings SWC Demonstration located on Lorax Lane in Pittsboro, Chatham County. 1. Carolina Worm Castings solid waste compost (SWC) demonstration has ceased operation and is no longer located at Piedmont Biofuels/on Lorax Lane in Pittsboro. 2. Carolina Worm Castings had used space available in a building owned by Piedmont Biofuels. 3. Mr. Reckendorf stated, via telephone conversation, that he ceased operation and removed equipment in August 2011. 4. Mr. Estill stated, via telephone conversation, that Carolina Worm Castings is no longer located at Piedmont Biofuels and vacated the premises — fall, 2011. 5. Mr. Estill stated that the space is currently being used for fish farming and gave permission for SWS to conduct a site visit to verify Carolina Worm Castings is no longer on site. 6. Mr. Patrone was given direction to the space Carolina Worm Castings had occupied and verified it is no longer located there. 7. Mr. Reckendorf stated that Carolina Worm Castings currently operates at the Whole Foods Market at 102 New Waverly Place, Cary, NC 27518. 8. Mr. Reckendorf has been issued a solid waste compost demonstration, SWCD 92-02, for the SWC demonstration operated at the Whole Food Market.
