Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. The Septage Land Application Site consists of Field 1 (6.8 acres), Field 2 (10.9 acres) and Field 3 (9.0 acres) for a total of 26.7 usable acres. Field 3 2. The site is permitted for land application of domestic septage and grease trap pumpings. 3. The access road was in good condition 4. Appropriate signage was displayed at the entrance to the fields. 5. All septage discharges appear to have been made within the disposal area boundary. 6. Field 1 contained grazing livestock. 7. Field 2 was contained mostly fescue; however, weed control in accordance with the Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) is needed. Field 2 8. In Field 3 it appeared that livestock had been recently moved. Bermuda grass is encroaching on the field. The NMP must be followed in regards to re-seeding and weed control. As a reminder, Permit Condition 2 states: “The mandatory 30-day waiting period between the last application of septage and the harvest or grazing of a crop shall be maintained. All discharges shall be at locations on the site consistent with the crop rotation in the approved plan.” 11. No objectionable odors were observed.
