I understand you spoke with Lauren yesterday regarding the incident from last weekend. Below is a brief rundown of what transpired: An employee working a late shift was on our yard at 12am and was approached by Todd with Lincoln County Emergency Management telling him we had a spill coming from our yard. The employee checked the area and did not see any visible signs of a spill or leak and contacted his supervisor. Unfortunately at this time it was close to 1am and the supervisor did not get the call. Todd called my cell phone at 1:34am and Virginia’s cell phone and left a message. He did not contact the on call emergency number that is on our voicemail. That number is available 24/7. I called Todd back at 10:01am on 3/27/21. Lauren McAlister had already been on the yard at 7am to inspect the area as the driver only to find rain water in a few areas still standing but nothing to indicate a sewage or grease spill. I asked Todd where the spill was coming from and he stated that it was coming from our in ground tanks which would be our dewatering tanks. I explained to him that would be impossible as the tanks would have had to burst through the concrete walls and there is no indication of any leaks on the ground behind these tanks. I asked where the leak had ran too. He stated the apartments to the left of our facility. I stated again that is not possible as it would have had to travel through two buildings across our yard and into the apartment complex. There was no water running across our yard upon inspection. Todd back tracked and stated it was running into the Covington Community that is a quarter of a mile behind our yard uphill. I asked him who reported this information and he refused to tell me. I asked him what we needed to do to rectify the situation and he stated nothing needed to be done. I asked him who provided him with mine and Virginia’s mobile numbers as we do not give these numbers out and again he refused. The only people that have our mobile numbers are employees for emergencies only. After I spoke to him I went to the yard myself and checked everything, there was nothing onsite that would have indicated a leak, spill, or otherwise. We have not heard anything from Todd since Saturday. If you need anything else please feel free to reach out to Gary or Lauren as I will be out of the office until Monday.
