OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
Road leading into the Septage Detention and Treatment Facility had areas of erosion severe enough for the State vehicle not to pass through. In the 2020 inspection, the road was mentioned for improvement. This is a violation of Rule .0838(b) that states “each site shall have an all weather access road.”

General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

1 – Site was missing “No Trespassing” sign at time of inspection 2 – Tanks are accessible for inspection
3 – Tanks appear to be structurally sound 4 – Septage transfers appear to be done in a safe and sanitary manner 5 – No vector or objectionable odors noted
6 – Setbacks appear compliant 7 – Entry road had enough erosion to not allow the State vehicle to pass. This violates Rule .0838(b)
