Pleasant Maintenance Yard 150 Dutch Rd (SR 2604), Mount Pleasant Cabarrus County Incident Number: 14987 Risk Classification: High The UST Section, Division of Waste Management (DWM), Mooresville Regional Office (MRO) received the December 8, 2020 Groundwater Monitoring Report on December 17, 2020. The report recommending conducting an additional sampling event of monitoring and supply wells to monitor reviewed and approved on March 29, 2021. The electronic report copy has been loaded to the electronic document storage system (Laserfiche). The report indicates: • Groundwater in the shallow aquifer is estimated to flow to the north-northeast • C9-C22 Aromatics were detected at a concentration above its 2L Standard in MW-6R. • Compounds were not detected above 2L Standards in the remaining nine monitoring wells sampled • Terracon was unable to collect a sample from two water supply wells within 1,000 feet (WSW-2 and WSW-3) during the August 2020 sampling event. • Dutch Buffalo Creek is located approximately 300 feet to the west of the source area. North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality I Division of Waste Management Mooresville Regional Office 1 610 East Center Avenue, Suite 301 1 Mooresville, North Carolina 28115 704.663.1699 Per this notice: • Continue semi-annual monitoring of the site. • Monitoring wells MW-4R, MW-5, and MW-7 can be omitted from the sampling schedule. • Collect depth to water measurements from on -site monitoring wells during sampling events. • Continue to sample water supply wells WSW-2 and WSW-3. • The next sampling event shall occur in August 2021. • The next monitoring report shall be submitted by September 30, 2021. Please note that sampling and correction action must be conducted in accordance with the Guidelines for Assessment and Corrective Action for UST Releases. Failure to comply in the manner and time specified may result in the assessment of civil penalties and/or the use of the other enforcement mechanisms.
