Incomplete record keeping may result in penalties being issued by State and/or Federal agencies. In order to assist you in maintaining the required records, the attached form has been prepared as a guide. The form contains the information that septage management firms are required to keep. The federal rules are located in 40 CFR 503.17(b), which can be found in the Appendix I of the North Carolina Septage Management Rules. You are not required to use the form. It is only an example to assist you in keeping the records required by state and federal rules. The log should be utilized to record each pumping event for septic tanks and grease traps.
