DATE AND TIME OF FIRE: January 6, 2021 @ Approximately 09:30
HOW WAS THE FIRE REPORTED AND BY WHOM:
Verbally by Ops Supervisor Seth Gundersen
LIST ACTIONS TAKEN:
WCD Units assisted by providing fire extinguisher support while our Water Truck arrived on
scene to extinguish the fire.
WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE:
It appears that a customer's brakes overheated in the dirt -dumping area of the site resulting
in significant damage to the customers truck.
DESCRIBE AREA, TYPE, AND AMOUNT OF WASTE INVOLVED:
The fire occurred in the dirt "borrow" area of the site. There was no waste involved in the incident.
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO PREVENT THIS FIRE:
There are no actions that WCD staff could have taken to prevent the fire.
DESCRIBE PLAN OF ACTIONS TO PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENTS:
Due to the fact that trucks are coming off the road with heated brakes, we can take notice of any signs of fire and
direct the customer's truck to a safe loacation and provide fire fighting assistence as needed.
