Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to ort.sl2am@nc.gov Good morning Ms. Beverly, As the consultant for the NCDOT's Preslar's Exxon (Incident 13453), 1 am notifying you of a laboratory sample mishap that could affect the schedule for submitting the required annual monitoring report. We collected the required samples from the site on October 14, 2020. The samples were shipped and the laboratory received them the next day. On 10/20/20, 1 received a call from the laboratory telling me that the cooler in which the samples were contained at the lab had malfunctioned and the samples temperatures were above the compliance criteria. As a result, we must now go back and resample. We are negotiating the terms with the laboratory, but I don't know if we will be able to recollect the samples and provide the report by the November 30 deadline. We will make every effort to meet the submittal date, but with the holiday coming up, we are requesting a 30-day extension to resample, analyze, and prepare the report. Thank you for your help.
