STATUS OF PERMIT:
Active; Annual Yard Waste Facility Notification issued March 2020; expires 31 May 2021. A completed Yard Waste
Facility Annual Notification Form must be submitted to the Solid Waste Section Compost and Land Application
Branch on or before 1 June 2021.
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Partial Facility Compliance Inspection
STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
None applicable
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
No violations were observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection; please see the ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
section below.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
1) This Facility is a Yard Waste Facility Notification under two acres in size.
2) This Facility is permitted to receive:
a. Untreated and unpainted wood waste.
b. Silvicultural Waste as defined in 15A NCAC 13B .0101(41): Waste materials produced from the care
and cultivation of forest trees, including bark and woodchips.

c. Yard Trash as defined in 15A NCAC 13B .0101(55): Solid waste resulting from landscaping and yard
maintenance such as brush, grass, tree limbs, and similar vegetative material.
d. Yard Waste as defined in 15A NCAC 13B .0101(56): Yard trash and landclearing debris to include
stumps, limbs, leaves, grass.
3) This Facility can receive the aforementioned wastes for processing and storage in volumes not greater than
6,000 cubic yards per quarter.
4) The land on which this Facility is located is described in the deed recorded with the Carteret County Register
of deeds at: Book #1570; Page #122.
5) The hours of operation for this Facility are as needed by the operator
6) The access road to the Facility is being managed properly at this time.
7) Signage needs to be posted at the entrance to the Facility stating the Facility contact information, hours of
operation, and types of waste received. *Within thirty days of receipt of this Facility Compliance Inspection
Report, please post proper signage at the Facility entrance.
8) This site is currently not secured from unauthorized entry. *Within thirty days of receipt of this Facility
Compliance Inspection Report, the site should be secured from unauthorized access by use of a gate or cable
at the site entrance and exit.
9) A Case CX240 Excavator and a Case 310 Dozer are maintained on-site and used for Facility maintenance
operations.
10) Landclearing waste and yard trash have been brought on site for processing with a tub or horizontal grinder.
All ground wood chips are removed from the site and used for boiler fuel.
11) Less than six thousand cubic yards of unprocessed vegetative waste was observed on-site during this Facility
Compliance Inspection.
12) The waste type was reviewed. Overall, the waste type was silvicultural waste. However, a small amount of
milled wood, mixed with vinyl flooring and MDF was observed to have recently been disposed on the site.
*Within thirty days of receipt of this Facility Compliance Inspection Report, please collect all unpermitted
wastes from the site and dispose of them at a Facility permitted to receive such wastes. Please provide copies
of all weigh tickets from this disposal to me at the email address listed below.
13) All waste setbacks and buffers being maintained as required.
14) Five gallon oil buckets have been discarded at their point of use. *Please collect these buckets for proper
disposal or recycling. Moving forward, please do not discard these or other petroleum containers after use.

15) No off site erosion was observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
16) No windblown debris was observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
17) *Corrective measures are required as a result of this Facility Compliance Inspection.
