Expires 10/11/2025. PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Partial Facility Compliance Inspection STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: None OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: None The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 5 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 01 - This facility was issued a Life of Site permit on August 4, 2015 and expires on October 11, 2025. 02 - Facility has adequate signage. 03 - Facility is secured by chain link fences and locking gates. 04 - Interior roads are made with all-weather materials. 05 - The Leachate drains at the Transfer Station were up to the top of the grate and over flowing onto the tipping floor. Thus causing trucks to create leachate to be tracked on the tarmac. 06 - The Leachate tanks (3) were full. 07 - Tyrone Sumler call for a Septage hauler to come to the facility and pump out the tanks. 08 - The Leachate tanks are in need of daily checking to prevent leachate drains from becoming clogged. 09 - Leachate was un-clogged after tanks were pumped out. 10 - Tipping Floor was full during this inspection. One truck dumped on top of the clogged leachate drain and dumped a small amount of waste outside on the tarmac. 11 - Michael Lee redirected incoming waste. 12 - The tarmac and tipping were pressure washed and cleaned before the close of business. 13 - There was no windblown trash during this inspection. 14 - No leaking trailer were noted during this inspection. 15 - Waste from this facility is permitted to be taken to Sampson Co. Disposal 8202-MSWLF-2000, East Carolina Regional Landfill, 0803-MSWLF-1993 and Brunswick Waste Management Facility, SWP 583 in Lawrenceville Va. 16 - Facility is permitted to receive waste from within, Duplin, Edgecombe, Franklin, Greene, Halifax, Johnston, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, North Hampton, Pitt, Wake, Wayne and Wilson Counties. 17 - Facility is designed to receive 1000 tons per day. 18 - Covid-19 recommendations were followed on this inspection. 19 - Follow up inspections are needed at this facility to ensure compliance is being maintained at all times. 19 - Digital pictures were taken during this inspection and some are attached to this report.
