Indicator parameters used in your detection monitoring program, such as Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Total Organic Compounds (TOC), have all at one time or another been elevated above accepted levels. In addition, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in MW-3 samples from both sampling events in 1994 exceeded the NCAC 2L ground -water standard. An analysis for VOCs using EPA Method 8240 or 8260 should help provide a better understanding of the ground -water quality at the facility. If the data indicates water quality has been affected by past landfilling activities, additional sampling and analyses may be required. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
