The facility is not required to monitor groundwater per a February 27, 2002 letter from Jim Coffey, Solid Waste Section Chief. 2. The facility is located on the same parcel as the Swain County LCID (87A) and was secured by a gate which was locked upon arrival. 3. Permanent edge of waste markers were installed around the boundary of the disposal area. 4. The landfill slopes appeared to be in good condition and the cap had a well -established vegetative cover. Facility staff stated that the landfill had been mowed in August 2020. 5. A small area on the northwest side of the cap appeared to be settling. Please add soil to this area to prevent the potential of water ponding on the cap. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this inspection report.
