ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. This facility was notified in 2005 for use as a less than 2 acre notified land clearing and inert debris landfill by the
previous owner. A new notification document was delivered to the office at the time of this inspection and must be
completed the new owner of the site with all required information, recorded and submitted to the Section.
2. The total disposal area for this facility will be under 2 acres in size.
3. The landfill should be cleared and constructed to allow for proper disposal of waste and inspection of the facility. Trees
should be removed and area graded ahead of fill activities to ensure proper separation from season high water table.
4. The fill activity is not exempt from and must comply with all other Federal, State or local laws, ordinances, rules,
regulations or orders, including but not limited to zoning restrictions, floor plain restrictions, wetlands restrictions,
sedimentation and erosion control requirements and mining regulations.
5. One edge of waste marker was observed near the northeastern corner of the waste disposal area. Permanent edge of
waste markers need to be installed and visible around the entire limits of the LCID.
6. 15A NCAC 13B .0566 (2), The facility shall only accept those solid wastes which it is permitted to receive. This
facility shall only accept land clearing waste, inert debris, untreated wood, and yard trash. During the September
24, 2020 inspection, corrugated metal, a metal bucket and treated wood were identified within the waste stream. The
unacceptable waste needs to be removed from the waste stream and properly disposed of at facility permitted to receive
that waste type.
7. Solid Waste shall be restricted to the smallest area feasible and compacted as densely as practical into cells. Two
working faces were observed at this site at the time of the inspection. It is recommended to operate one working face
and adequately cover with soil monthly or when the active area reaches one acre in size, whichever comes first.
8. 15A NCAC 13B .0565 (3)0) Excavation, grading and fill material side slopes shall not exceed three to one (3:1).
The side slopes were observed to be mainly vertical and uncovered during the inspection. The side slopes need to be
properly graded and covered with soil.
9. Solid Waste shall not be disposed of in water.
10. The access roads have been repaired and constructed of all-weather material and properly maintained. Good job!
11. Photographs were taken during the inspection.
