Thank you Joe for the generic word document showing the HVAC contractor information. Can you provide a scanned
copy of the signed work proposal/receipt?
Thanks again for getting that information in.

David,
I would again like to apologize for my delayed response to your request for information. The past 10 weeks has been
unusually busy for me.
Attached please find a statement from my HVAC contractor. The report is not very detailed, but it at least verifies that
they did work with us to increase the building pressure on the Machine Shop side.
We had them come in several times in an effort to open the proper HVAC hardware, which did result in increased
pressure. The Office data has always been well above the minimum requirements. We still do not know why.
I have the 2016, and the 2017 data on thumb drives. I will put them in the mail to you on Monday 10/30, so you should
have them by mid week.
The Machine Shop pressure still drops below 2 pascals from time to time, but over most any range of readings, the
average is above 2 pascals. Again, we are not sure why it varies so much over short periods of time.
Please let me know what you think, and if you feel we now pass the requirement. If not, we will continue to research
the problems and work to increase the pressure on the Machine Shop side.
I have a plan the repair the areas of the floor that are currently not sealed up, and I will make sure that happens before
year end.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
Initially, pressure monitoring data was provided to us on a thumb drive only having sets of logged daily pressure
readings collected for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. That pressure data was logged every .5 seconds for partial periods of
time. Please know that according to DEQ approved Vapor Mitigation Plan, the pressure readings should be collected
every 20 min 24/7. You may continue to provide the raw logged data as before, in a method that is convenient for you.
However, the averaged results should be provided in a brief letter report describing the data logged and having graphs
or tables showing the overall effectiveness of the HVAC’s system to maintain an average of 2 pascals at the monitoring
points. We also request that copies of maintenance or calibration documentation for the pressure monitoring
equipment be included as well. In addition to the items above, also provide with the report information on the floor
integrity (and repairs thereof) as stipulated in the DEQ approved Vapor Mitigation Plan, Section 5 – Performance
Measurements.
Sincerely,
David Peacock

David,
I spent last week at DM2, and spent some time getting updated on the work my guys have done regarding the pressure
levels in our building. As you know, one monometer measures well above the standard we set of 2 pascals, and the
second monometer has always been reading much lower than the first, and much of the time under the 2 pascal
standard.
We had our HVAC contractor in several times from February to June. We tried a variety of damper settings, and finally
managed to get the pressure on the lower reading monometer to average 2 pascals.
I remember from last time we delivered data to you there was some issues related to the data, and the software
necessary to interpret the data. How should I send you this data? If I remember correctly, we sent you a thumb drive
with the data and the software. Would that be acceptable this time?
I will include a short report stating what we did to get the pressure reading up to the 2 pascal standard.

David,
I spoke with my guys yesterday, and they have managed to get the pressure in the Machine Room up to the minimum
required pressure most of the time. It does drop below from time to time, for short periods. The Office Room is well
above the minimums, as it has been all along.
I will have you a more formal report with supporting data later next week.

Wanted to follow‐up with you on any test reports and the overall operation of HVAC/building system. I don’t think we
received a report with the LURU in January and I apologize for waiting so long to get back in touch.
Please let us know how the evaluation went and how the final results look.

Joe,
That’s great you have ECS working on that issue. I do hope it will provide meaningful information and/or fixes.
If you have the test report ready in January, or early February send with the Update. If the report will be available later
than that (March or April), go ahead with sending one in January (noting your intentions) and then sending another
revised/amended LURU having the report when it’s available. Does this work for you?
Thanks for letting me know your schedule.

Subject: LURU
David,
I got your notice regarding the LURU. I have been working with ECS regarding the building pressure. They came a
month or so ago and did a test, but it was later determined that the HVAC systems were not properly sealed before the
test, so it did not give us a direction to make improvements.
They are now scheduled to do another test on 1/27/17. I have my HVAC contractor scheduled to be here prior to the
test to make sure we are ready, then stay for the test in case we need to address any issues. ECS will not only pressurize
the building, they will also be prepared to detect where leaks may be, so we can fix them.
9
I will make sure my LURU is submitted by 1/31 17, but if it is okay with you I will wait until after the test is completed so I
can give you as much info on my situation as possible.
Sincerely,
Joe
