In accordance with your April 20, 2020 letter regarding the Initial Sediment Boil Evaluation at the subject site, I am
providing the requested monthly update via this email.
9-29-20 Reviewed Boil Excavation Findings with NCDEQ
During a virtual meeting with you, ERM reviewed their findings and discussed the proposed next steps.
10-1-20 Received Approval Letter from NCDEQ
In your letter to RJRT, you approved of our plans to investigate the underdrain, continue to monitor the boil area,
continue to maintain the sediment control measures, and continue to make monthly updates.
10-10,11-20 Significant Rainfall Event.

10-15-20 Cap and Boil Inspection Performed
The boil was not active during the inspection. However, a trace of dark gray sediment was observed on the surface near
the original boil area and extending to the silt fencing. The silt fencing was still in place and functioning properly. No
other problems were found with the cap. We plan to continue with the proposed evaluation activities for the surface
boil area. We are making final plans to get a camera onsite that can inspect the underdrain.
