In response to the Notice of Violation, we have completed the below actions to eliminate the
leachate flowing from the leaf stockpile.
A. The access road around the leaf stockpile has been regraded and a ditch has been
installed at the toe of the slope of the leaf stockpile.
B. Sandy sub -soil was brought to this area to build a berm on the backside of the ditch.
C. Hardwood fines and mulch are placed on the inside of the berm to soak up the
leachate.
D. Once saturated, the hardwood fines and mulch will be removed and taken to the
mixing pit and replaced with fresh hardwood fines and mulch.
E. We are monitoring this area daily as well as anticipating adverse weather conditions
and preparing beforehand to eliminate any leaching.
Immediately upon completion of the above actions we have observed zero leachate in this area
and have supported this with photos attached in the Facility Compliance Inspection Report
dated August 28, 2020.
