Box 249 jeremy.baker@brunswickcountync.gov Bolivia, NC 28422 910-253-6314 910-253-2520 stephanie.lewis@brunswickcountync.gov PARTICIPANTS: Liz Patterson, NCDEQ – Solid Waste Section Jeremy Baker – Brunswick County STATUS OF PERMIT: 1010T-TRANSFER-1997 Life-of-Site Permit To Operate issued August 19, 2019 PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Partial Inspection STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: NONE OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: NONE The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. Life-of-Site Permit to Operate issued August 19, 2019, expires April 27, 2050. 2. The facility is fenced and is secured by a locking gate when it is not open for operation. 3. The correct signage is at the entrance of the facility listing the facility name, permit number and emergency contact information as well as materials accepted at the facility. 4. Personnel are onsite during operating hours. The MSW Transfer Station is open to accept waste from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 7:30 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday. The C&D debris landfill is normally closed on Sunday’s and select County holidays. 5. Records were not reviewed during this inspection. 6. The tipping floor is rinsed throughout the day and thoroughly cleaned at the end of the operating day. 7. Transfer Station upgrades have started. Tipping floor upgrades were happening during this inspection. Work to repair building panels should start next week. 8. The facility had multiple fire extinguishers at the facility. 9.
