GW Incident #3893
Dear Mr. Leigh:
This office acknowledges the receipt of your 2007 Groundwater Monitoring Report for
the subject site on May 5, 2008 from Apex. Your cooperation is appreciated. According to the
monitoring report, free product has been getting thicker in some wells and was encountered in
more monitoring wells during October 2007 monitoring event. This office advises Colonial
Pipeline Company of increasing free product recovery frequency at the site. Increase in
frequency will speed up the free product recovery at the site. The increase in benzene
concentration in MW-197 in October 2007 was significant, compared to the results in October
2006 event. Contaminated groundwater may have discharged to the lower pond. So please take
actions to prevent any discharge of contaminated groundwater to the surface water, which will
result in 2B violation. If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Gene Mao
at (336) 641-3589,
Sincerely,
G
