In response to your letter dated January 30, 1989, Colonial acknowledges receipt
of the notice of violation pertaining to the above referenced accident.
Colonial Pipeline is fully prepared to undertake appropriate measures to restore
the affected area as nearly as may be possible to the condition existing prior
to the discharge. Soil samples have already been collected and are presently
being analyzed to determine the extent of contamination and the necessary
remedial action to achieve compliance with the Oil Pollution and Hazardous
Substance Control Act.
