The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. This inspection was conducted at the request of the property owner, Bradley Mills, for the purpose of assessing the
condition of the landfill and discussing the procedure for closure.
2. This LCID landfill is located on tax parcel number 4659006769.000 of the Iredell County GIS map. Owners of the
property are Bradley W. Mills and Brian F. Mills.
3. The landfill appears to meet the buffer requirements set forth in 15A NCAC 13B .0564(9).
4. The landfill cap was covered with well -established vegetation and was found to be well -maintained. There was an
area on top of the landfill and the roadway to the top that needs to be resowed.
5. All slopes are covered with well -established vegetation with no evidence of erosion.
6. Thickness of the landfill cap was verified on -site during this inspection with eight probes at random points in the fill
area. Mr. Mills used a small auger to probe the cap. Each probe hole was at least 12" deep and yielded only clean
soil. No contact with waste was made in any of the probe holes. This serves to verify the presence of a final soil
cover required by 15A NCAC 13B .0566(5).
7. A final inspection will be conducted to verify the establishment of vegetation where the eight probes were dug,
roadway to the top and the top of the landfill. Please contact Kim Sue, Environmental Senior Specialist, Solid
